Motor is out and getting ready for the 460!!

Got the K-Frame spacers installed and the manual rack installed. The spacers will make it so the 460 will sit under the stock hood for that stealth look!
Also is a great time to install the 11" disc up front and I also installed a power brake booster from a Fairmont so it will clear the valve covers (the stock T-Bird unit is very large and hits the VC.)

The 11" disc are almost completed.....

Manual Rack installed as well as the completed install of the K-Frame spacers (swiped it from the black Bird)

460 and c6 are in the car now.....stil have alot of work ahead of me!!

Had a minor problem, well a big problem with the steering u-joint hitting the header tube. I am getting good at yanking the motor in and out of the car, I must had done this at least 10 times by now! So to cure this problem I had to make the shaft longer. I used an old column shift likage tube from my Fairmont. I cut the steering shaft, then took the grinder to the shaft to get the 2 flat sides needed to slip into the column tube. Hit it with the ol' Handy Mig and its done! Its still pretty close to the header tube (1/16") but its not laying on it like it was!!

Just a little info for ya.....I am a small block guy at heart SO when I had the 460 out this last time I said, "I better put that starter on." Good thing I did because I did not know that C6's take a bolt and a nut to hold the top of the starter on!! Look how close the header tube is, I could just barely get a nut and washer back there!! I might have to yank the motor to change starters....damn I sure hope not, but I made sure I put a TON of anti-seize on that nut.....just my .02 for ya.

Well I had no idea that installing a shifter was so damn hard! Had to make mounting brackets, drill holes, plug holes etc etc...... I got the shifter in and made a pass. gear cable bracket, also made up some trany cooler lines.
I bet I have almost 12 hours in this project and I still need to address the factory console to B&M console. But its in and it shifts in all gear YEAH!

Made my drive shaft today. I had to cut appx. 5" out of shaft to make it fit! I ended up digging through my collection of Ford parts and came up with a u-joint that fits the C6 yoke to a 79 Futura drive shaft...talk about lucky!! Never toss anything in the trash :0)
Got the Holley "red" pump in place and wired up and I switched out gas tanks, took the tank from my Black T-Bird that I had mod'ed up the pickup assy.

So this was about 6 hours worth of working today....I am beat.....

Fox Chassis Lincoln rad. installed today. I scored it from the junk yard about 2 years ago.....its from a DIESEL engine Fox Chassis Lincoln Continental!! I have never seen another diesel powered Fox car in my life. This was a true score, it has plastic end tanks but the core is aluminum. It has NO filler neck in the tank, the filler/rad cap is in the upper hose assy which I also grabbed.
My electric fans are from a Nissan, I cant remember which model but they fit ok. Had to do some trimming of the shroud to get it to fit but they are in and wired up.
Ran all new steel trans cooler lines to the oil cooler. Again another pain in my ass project. Nice thing about this Bird is that at some point someone installed a Ford AfterMarket cooler, which kinda looks like the cooler they installed on Crown Vic cop cars. It sits away from the AC condensor so it will get a ton of cool air.
